What if we are more than just a physical body? Ancient traditions and modern energy medicine suggest we are made of a subtle energy field that holds information about our physical, mental, and emotional health. Balancing this energy can help restore the body to its natural state of balance. As Energy Psychologist Donna Eden says, “Matter follows energy. When your energies are vibrant, so is your body.”

Discover Energy4Life, a bioenergetic scanning technology that detects imbalances in the human energy field to support healing.

Whitney Liptay, an Energy Healer (Core Star School graduate) and certified Energy4Life practitioner, has over 21 years of experience in Energy Healing, Spiritual Coaching, and Intuitive Readings in Winnetka. A cancer survivor at 22, she has dedicated her life to empowering others to heal themselves and find hope in their health journey.

For Her Own Good “gives us a perspective on female history, the history of  American medicine and psychology, and the history of childhood, unlike any we have had.”  – Adrienne Rich
“Since the early nineteenth century, professionals have been invoking scientific expertise to prescribe what women should do for their own good.  Among the experts’ diagnoses and remedies, menstruation was an illness requiring seclusion; pregnancy, a disabling condition; and higher education, a threat to the longterm health of the uterus.”
Join us this winter/spring for a 9-session seminar in which we’ll read and discuss this powerful and highly regarded contribution to Women’s History, which the Boston Globe said “uses rationality informed by moral insight to meet the ‘experts’ head-on.”

Slang in Conversations: Considering misunderstandings and  Opportunities

In this interactive session, Sarah Strom Kays, Ph.D, will talk about slang and how we use it and other language adaptations. It is a challenge keeping up with the most current slang terms and sometimes, because of the generational nature of slang, we continue to use the words which are familiar. However, it isn’t necessary to know the latest terms to understand the potential of slang in conversations. Although this talk won’t teach you all of the contemporary slang, it will offer opportunities for participants to talk about and with slang, jargon, and other argots. And, maybe, you’ll walk away with a new slang term or two.

Ramaa Krishnan talks about the importance of inner work, particularly when approached as a means to serve the world. Speaking from a study of universal spiritual teachings, combined with her own experiences, and reading from her upcoming book, Ramaa will bridge the gaps in our perception that creates walls between people and a notion that self-care is selfish. Her prescription of a daily dose of self-inquiry, self-forgiveness and self-compassion is one that will create ripples of change that begin from us and extend into all our relationships, far and near. Join us for this important discussion as we each look at the world and wonder how to make a difference.

Let’s Talk….about Conscious ParenTEEN

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

  •  May 16, 2024
     7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

Parenting reveals a bag of surprises (or shocks) as our cute little sons and daughters become teenagers, on their way to becoming the adults that Nature meant them to be. As Mother Nature does her “big reveal,” we discover in our child, a unique human being who needs to be parented in ways we do not know and have not grown up with. Add to this the changing world with new innovations and technology, and we find ourselves in the center of an unprecedented storm. Our own repressed fears and unfinished stories come to the surface even as our children struggle to find themselves and cope with their future

If any of this sounds familiar and relatable, join us. Let’s talk about our challenges and look deeply to understand them and find our way forward. Ramaa Krishnan, mindfulness leader and founder of Full Bloomed Lotus Center for Self-Awareness will lead the conversation and share her wisdom on how to navigate these tumultuous waters, and use them as growth opportunities for ourselves.

                   Thursday, May 16, 7 pm to 8:15 pm. $25

About Ramaa:

Ramaa created Full Bloomed Lotus, a meditation and self-awareness studio in 2007, with the intention of creating a conscious community of people living from a deeper place as they face the challenges of everyday living. She has been leading book groups, sharing wisdom from her study of Eastern spirituality and her travels around the world, as well as her own experience of raising two children on the North Shore. Ramaa has borne witness to the journeys of numerous families over the years and believes that the only way we can make it through difficult times is by coming together.

Introduction to At-Home Pelvic Floor Training

Introduction to At-Home Pelvic Floor Training

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.

  •  April 22, 2024
     9:00 am - 10:00 am

Led by health coach and personal trainer Patricia Linderman,  who is also a certified teacher of Pfilates, a Pilates-inspired pelvic floor training program created by urogynecologist Dr. Bruce Crawford.

This opportunity includes a 1-hour introductory workshop and two 30-minute group follow-up sessions on Zoom, to help you choose the variations that work best for your body and incorporate this simple daily habit (5-10 minutes a day) into your life!

Women in the U.S. don’t receive rehab after childbearing (as we would for other types of injury/trauma)😠 and most midlife-and-beyond women suffer from leaks, urgency, excessive frequency and/or prolapse without knowing where to turn for help.

Good news: with the simple training techniques presented in this workshop, you can start right away with your own at-home pelvic recovery in just a few minutes a day, and reverse or prevent these problems!

In the first 1-hour introductory workshop:

– You’ll learn surprising facts about the “base of our core,” common issues (including some you might not even know you have!), and what to do about them.

– We’ll do Kegels together and make sure we’re doing them optimally (there are many common mistakes!).

– We’ll tune in to the pelvic floor and start enhancing the important brain-body connection that helps prevent leaks and supports optimal functioning.

– You’ll learn and practice simple daily exercises (with seated, standing and lying-down variations, your choice!) that take Kegels to the next level for faster and more effective pelvic floor recovery.

– We’ll also add breathing techniques that support the well-being of the pelvic floor and our entire bodies.

– We’ll discuss easy ways to fit your new pelvic health routine into your busy life, in just 5-10 minutes a day, and feel a wide range of benefits!

– And together we’ll break down shame, silence and barriers with honesty and even a little humor.

What to bring: Please have a squishy ball or cushion that you can squeeze between your thighs. We will practice standing, seated and (optional) lying-down variations so be prepared to practice any of those you choose to do (completely your choice, all are good!).

In the follow-up two 30 minute sessions, we will:

  • Provide accountability and support as you get this important habit established in your life.
  • Check in on how the exercises have been going, ask questions and share successes.
  • Practice coordinating our breathing with muscular activation.
  • Learn and practice additional variations that may be helpful.

Workshop: Monday, April 22, 9 – 10 am CT

Practice sessions:  Monday, April 29 and Monday, May 6, 9 – 9:30 amCT.       Series $49/$45

Important: When signing up, please also fill out Patricia’s short questionnaire/waiver at this link .
