You’ve heard of the American women’s suffrage movement. But how much do you know about the 70+ year effort that resulted in the single largest expansion of U.S. democracy? It took much more than a few parades and wearing white dresses. The women and men that fought for votes for women used every tool available and kept going despite the never-ending defeats. In this talk, with CM Marihugh, Public Historian, you’ll hear stories and see photos of those who worked for the cause in Illinois and across the U.S. Be inspired by their creativity, courage, and most of all, persistence.

    THE POWER OF COMMUNITY

This Friday Salon, join this talk with Sarah Petrin, author of Bring Rain: Helping Humanity in Crisis, by Zoom. She will focus on recognizing our spheres of influence and using our voice to realize the changes you want to see in your own community and in the world. She also addresses how to use your time and resources to make an everyday difference in the lives of people around you. Drawing on examples in her book from responding to Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana to the Ebola Crisis in Sierra Leone, Sarah will share how ordinary acts of courage can lead to systemic change. A very important topic for all to be better prepared.

What if we are more than just a physical body? Ancient traditions and modern energy medicine suggest we are made of a subtle energy field that holds information about our physical, mental, and emotional health. Balancing this energy can help restore the body to its natural state of balance. As Energy Psychologist Donna Eden says, “Matter follows energy. When your energies are vibrant, so is your body.”

Discover Energy4Life, a bioenergetic scanning technology that detects imbalances in the human energy field to support healing.

Whitney Liptay, an Energy Healer (Core Star School graduate) and certified Energy4Life practitioner, has over 21 years of experience in Energy Healing, Spiritual Coaching, and Intuitive Readings in Winnetka.
